In short: Maryland is increasing state funding for education to 26 million specifically for “higher education” which includes technical schools and apprenticeship. There is no clarity with how to spend the funds or where it’s being designated, which is a good opportunity for Double M Studios to secure a multi-year contract with Montgomery County Public Schools, and ambitiously the rest of the Maryland (State Government).

    • Improved example: If tuition is 40k per student, we keep the 30k to pay for their tuition as a grant or whatever.

  • Two of the committee’s main Blueprint priorities are to increase the number of apprenticeships to 60,000 in seven years and to ensure at least 45% of high school students complete a high-school level apprenticeship program by the 2030-31 school year. According to the committee’s document, which was submitted earlier this year to the Blueprint board, as of 2021 nearly 4,100 high school graduates completed a youth apprenticeship or earned an industry-recognized credential.Link

  • The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future is a 10-year plan that would expand pre-kindergarten programs, increase funding for schools with high concentrations of poverty, increase pay and career opportunities for teachers, and create new career pathways for high schoolers who don’t plan to attend college.
